Course on singing body training
Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 September 2021
Morten Middelboe Møllemand and Katrine Krog Russo
The course is for everyone looking for a practical and theoretical introduction to the effect of the singing body training on the voice.
The course covers the newest basic exercises to train the singing body and introduces the anatomical and physiological principles behind the training. The exercises are continuously linked to singing and sound production to give the course participants a sense of the effect of the training on their own voices and the voices of others.
- Introduction to the basic themes for training the singing body using the Anne Rosing method.
- Insight into the anatomical and physiological principles on which the training is based.
- Greater awareness of the significance of your body instrument to your sound.
- Experience the effect of the exercises on your voice and the voices of others.
- Tools to create, nurture and support your body instrument to give your voice increased freedom and abrasion resistance.
The singing body training provides a solid foundation for singers as it strengthens, balances and limbers up the working conditions of the voice and the breath support, which benefits all singers regardless of their level and singing technique. The training of the singer's body is similar to the training of the body of a wind player. This course is therefore also particularly relevant to wind players.
Prior knowledge of the Anne Rosing Method or familiarity with training the singing body is not required, but it will certainly be an advantage. It is therefore recommended that you attend at least 3 of the open singing body training sessions held at the Anne Rosing Institute. You can find further information about the weekly training sessions here.
The singing body training exercises have been developed, refined and adjusted over the years, and this course may thus also be considered an update course for singers and singing teachers with prior knowledge of training the singing body and the Anne Rosing Method in general.
